Mabon marks the Autumn Equinox, when day and night stand in near balance before the nights begin to grow longer. Traditionally associated with the harvest, Mabon offers a natural time to pause, give thanks for what has grown in our lives and consider what we want to carry with us into the darker half of the year.

Each botanical in this Mabon Loose Incense was chosen for its connection to the energy and symbolism of the season:

Star Anise — Associated with protection, intuition and spiritual awareness. Its distinctive star shape also makes it a beautiful botanical for seasonal altar and ritual work.

Cassia Buds — Bring warm, fiery energy to the blend and are traditionally associated with abundance, prosperity, success and protection.

Ginger — Associated with vitality, confidence, success and the energetic momentum needed to bring intentions into action.

Whole Cloves — Traditionally connected with protection, prosperity and purification while adding a rich autumn spice note to the incense.

Elecampane Root — A traditional magical herb associated with protection, blessings and spiritual work, adding an earthy element that complements the harvest character of the blend.

Wormwood — Long associated with intuition, divination, spirit work and protection. Its presence reflects Mabon’s position at the threshold between the bright and dark halves of the year.

Orange Peel — Associated with joy, abundance, prosperity and solar energy, honouring the warmth and generosity of the harvest season.

Ways to Use Your Mabon Incense

Burn your incense during a Mabon or Autumn Equinox ritual, while decorating your seasonal altar, journaling about gratitude and personal harvests, meditating on balance, or setting intentions for the months ahead.

As the incense burns, consider reflecting on three simple questions:

What have I harvested or accomplished this year?
What am I grateful for right now?
What am I ready to release as I enter the darker half of the year?

Mabon reminds us that the harvest isn't only about what we gather—it's also about recognizing what has grown.
