Our Citrus & Hops Beer Shampoo Bar is made with beer powder and is scented with a blend of spiced citrus featuring white grapefruit, tangerine, blood orange and cinnamon mingled with black pepper, pine and balsam fir.

Beer is used to help repair damaged hair and reinvigorate the volume of your hair. The hops used in the preparation of beer are said to contain silica, which may help in strengthening hair follicles and promoting growth too. Beer also contains trace amounts of nutrients, such as calcium, iron, protein and selenium as well as vitamin D, E and Zinc.

Shampoo bars are concentrated shampoo, meaning that they are made without the addition of water, which makes shampoo bars a longer lasting alternative to traditional bottled shampoos.

This eco-friendly shampoo bar is formulated with all-natural, gentle, hair-loving cleansers along with hair-strengthening and moisturizing ingredients including foaming silk, babassu oil, castor oil, panthenol and beer.

To use a shampoo bar, you can either massage the bar between the palms of your hands and use the lather to wash your hair, or you can massage the shampoo bar directly onto your hair, or you can use a soap bag to help generate lather more fully and quickly. Once the lather starts to form, you can put the shampoo bar down and wash your hair as per usual and rinse thoroughly.

We recommend the use of a soap bag as it helps the bar lather more quickly and, as the bar begins to disintegrate with use, the soap bag will keep any broken corners contained, allowing you to use the entire bar without losing any small pieces.

Each shampoo bar weighs 60 grams.

Our shampoo bars are pH balanced, meaning that the pH of the shampoo is the same as (or is balanced with) the natural pH of your hair and scalp - 5.5. While you can use products with a pH lower than 5.5 without any issues, once you get to about a pH level of 7 or more, your hair will become stripped of its natural keratin layers, leaving your hair dry, frizzy and brittle.

Many companies sell traditional cold process or hot process soap as shampoo bars. Traditional soap has a pH of around 9 or 10, which means it's extremely drying to the hair and scalp. Over time, your hair will become brittle and you may even develop dandruff as your scalp becomes too dry to maintain its natural sebum levels.

Furthermore, regardless of what ingredients are used in traditional soaps (including oils, butters, vinegars and citric acid), the overall pH of the soap will not get below 9, as that is just the nature of traditional soap. The reason why most people don't wash their hair with traditional soap meant for the body is because of how drying and damaging it is to the hair and scalp and why people should use shampoos made specifically for cleaning and cleansing the hair and scalp to avoid the dryness traditional soaps cause.
